Flange Bolting

Flange bolts, or frame bolts, are characterized by the plain or ridged skirt around the bolt head. This feature is designed to provide added holding power in the absence of a flat washer, essentially taking its place. Flange bolting has a wide variety of applications. One of the most popular uses is in pipefitting and plumbing. Bellevilles used in flange bolting are specified for the application depending on the size and grade of steel required. All flange bolting applications can be fitted with Belleville washers in order to hold the clamping pressure in many different environments and applications. This will help the joints last longer in the application and will reduce the amount of maintenance required.

Standard Fasteners

Belleville washers (also known as coned-disc springs, conical spring washers, disc springs, Belleville springs, and cupped spring washers) have a distinct conical shape that gives these washers their load characteristics. Our standard series Belleville washers are made from carbon steel and stainless steel for high performance use. Multiple washers may be stacked in parallel (same direction) or in series (alternating directions) to modify the amount of deflection and/or load. Feel free to consult with us about stacking Bellevilles.

Misc. Fasteners

Metric Bellevilles: The metric series Belleville washers are designed to meet both domestic and international needs. Metric washers are the most commonly used worldwide and are designed to meet ISO standards.
Ball Bearing Bellevilles: Ball Bearing Fasteners are used together with radial ball bearings to reduce vibration and shaft deflection, which eliminates excessive wear and noise. The roundness of both the Belleville and ball bearing ensure that the load is distributed evenly around the bearing ring.  Small variations in deflection can significantly increase or decrease the applied force and force can be multiplied by stacking two or more disc springs in parallel. The size of the ball bearing will dictate the specific size of the disc spring needed for the application.
